A Zogby poll just released shows 52 percent of Americans favoring the impeachment of the President for his unwarranted wiretapping of U.S. citizens and others over the past several years, with only 43 percent supporting Bush's excesses in this area. The poll was commissioned by AfterDowningStreet.org, a grassroots coalition supporting a Congressional investigation of Bush's decision to invade Iraq in 2003. Zogby International interviewed 1,216 U.S. adults from January 9-12. AfterDowningStreet.org co-founder Bob Fertik reportedly said, "The American people are not buying Bush's outrageous claim that he has the power to wiretap American citizens without a warrant. Americans believe terrorism can be fought without turning our own government into Big Brother."
