In addition, the US government routinely informs the Mexican government of the position of Minutemen volunteers, thereby aiding the success of illegal aliens in reaching the US. The Minutemen have been wildly successful in halting illegal immigration in the limited number of areas they have been able to patrol and yet the Bush administration has done everything in its power to lambaste them publicly and scupper their program. The Bush administration has no real motivation to protect the border, only a cynical necessity to placate its angered conservative base while moving ahead full steam with a blanket amnesty program that will only increase the zeal of criminals to invade America. President Bush's grand gesture to send 6,000 national guard troops to the border is an empty political maneuver aimed at silencing his conservative base and is being tied to the mass amnesty program as a bait and switch false solution.
