Conservative candidate Felipe Calderon is the official winner of Mexico's presidential vote by less than 0.6 per cent, but his leftist opponent is vowing to contest the results in court.
The official vote results were announced Thursday afternoon, almost four days after Sunday's vote ended with results that were too close to call.
Calderon and his National Action Party won 35.88 per cent of the 41 million votes cast, while Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador of the Democratic Revolution Party won 35.31 per cent.

That's a difference of roughly 220,000 votes.
Lopez Obrador, who has blamed his loss on fraud, said his team would go to the country's federal election tribunal to challenge the results. He called on his supporters to demonstrate in Mexico City's main square Saturday.
At day's end Wednesday, Lopez Obrador, the former mayor of Mexico City, had a lead of about 400,000 votes or one percentage point, with 90 per cent of the tally sheets recounted.
The change in fortunes reflected the fact that among the last returns being counted were those from northern and western Mexico, where the conservatives are stronger.
Calderon told the Associated Press that he would be willing to include Lopez Obrador in his cabinet in an effort to build a coalition government, but acknowledged that his rival would be unlikely to accept.
A seven-judge tribunal will hear any appeals. By law, it must certify a winner by Sept. 6.
