Rouge States and the 9/11 Truth Terrorists
Brent Jessop - Knowledge Driven Revolution.com
November 15, 2006
Over the past year there have been accusations from such evil rough states as Iran and Venezuela that 9/11 was a self inflicted wound to goad the American people into open ended war in the Middle East and domestic tyranny at home. So, should the 9/11 truth movement embrace these statements even if they are in-line with many well respected experts around the world?
Let’s start this off with a little “hypothetical”. Let’s assume that if you heard that the independent 9/11 commission were doing business with some of Bush’s buddies you would naturally be suspicious and would probably (and rightly) not believe a word they say.
So now imagine that you are a stereotypical American afraid that Al-Qaeda sleeper cells are scattered around the globe just waiting for the signal to attack. If you hear that Islamo-Fascist Terrorist Supporting Wipe Israel off the Map Nuclear Armageddon Mullah’s and Radical Socialist Castro (the evil communist not like China) Loving Anti-Democratic Military Dictators are associated with the 9/11 truth movement, would you believe a word they say?
Perception and reputation are fundamental to the growth of any fringe movement trying to challenge the distorted “love thy ignorance” reality that is sadly pervasive in western culture. If you believe that any press is good press then you should be happy with the support of Iran and Venezuela. But the media will not report on the facts if Ahmadinejad or Chavez happens to point them out. Just like they distort and avoid the facts of scholars and experts like Professor Steven Jones.
For example, hear is a gem from the Miami Herald:
“When Venezuela's leftist President Hugo Chávez called President Bush ''the devil'' in a U.N. speech in September, many thought his ''anti-imperialist'' rhetoric had reached rock bottom.”
“But fresh depths have since been plumbed. The Venezuelan government, to judge from recent events, officially regards Bush as a genocidal Nazi who arranged the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks to justify aggression against other nations.”
You can imagine the rest of the article is not much better then this excerpt.
Let’s take a look at this whole thing from a different angle. There have been repeated calls by talking heads (even president Bush likens conspiracy theorists to terrorists) to throw 9/11 truth activists in jail. Even more disturbing the Detainee Torture Act was recently passed that would make anyone who sympathizes with the terrorists or spreads their propaganda a criminal. They then could be thrown in jail indefinitely without trial and tortured. Being associated with Iranian Mullah’s and Leftist Leaders is not a good place to be considering both Iran and Venezuela are on American’s Regime Change To Do List. If Iraq (and for that matter Afghanistan, Haiti, Yugoslavia, El Salvador, Panama, Nicaragua, Guatemala…) is any indication, all that is needed is a good (or even any) excuse.
It is nice to hear foreign leaders of any ilk speak a small piece of truth. But caution should be taken when those leaders are too easily demonized. Whether you want to reach a larger audience or you are concerned with ending up in the twenty first century Japanese internment camps, distance from the demons is preferable.
