Bloomberg’s Silence and Killing to Cure Poverty

Brent Jessop - Knowledge Driven Revolution.com
August 9, 2007

It is always interesting to see how people in power react when confronted with some truth.

Recently, the folks from WeAreChange.org swarmed New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg (see video) on his monthly connecting with the people subway ride. Behind armed goons, of course, the subway is dangerous.

He was repeatedly asked, among other things, why he past a law banning citizens from using video cameras while dramatically increasing the number of city run surveillance cameras and running his own media company?

How would you, as a public figure, and of clear conscience, respond to such charges of hypocrisy and conflict of interest? Would you not at least attempt to set the record straight and defend yourself and your character? Maybe not for the benefit of those who are confronting you, but at least for all the people who will later witness the video.

Bloomberg chose silence.

Probably his safest option, since, unlike you, he has no clear conscience.

Another confrontation took place during a recent “debate” about global warming on Australian television. The group of debaters were confronted by the audience on three occasions about the eugenics laden past (and for that matter present) of the environmental movement and specifically the role of the World Wildlife Fund. The debaters, deniers and alarmist both, just laughed together about such silly questions. A well programmed reaction from those ignorant of the basic history of their own movement (or the movement they are supposedly resisting). There was one exception to this conditioned response, formerly with British Petroleum and current CEO of the World Wildlife Fund, Greg Bourne. This forum did not provide the luxury of silence that Bloomberg had on his subway ride. Bourne's response to the first question was standard “we have changed” from wanting to kill the majority of the human population to helping them out of poverty. Quite the change of heart, eh?

His response to the final question about population control was steal eyed and terse. Both of his responses showed an awareness of the topic and certainly no shame for the horrific past of his organization and their most influential members.

Both Bloomberg and Bourne were given ample opportunity to correct those that confronted them and neither did. Why not, if the truth was on their side?
